Dear Mr. Lewis:
As a follow-up to our recent telephone conversations, I have enclosed copies of our draft uniform manifest forms with instructions. The development of these forms represents.an extension of_a proposed Nuclear Regulatory' Commission (NRC) rulemaking on " Low-Level Waste Shipment Manifest Information:and Reporting," and has been undertaken following _ requests from_ the Host State Technical Coordinating Committee and the Low. Level Waste Forum.
With the intention of assuring that.the-formats of these manifests are practical and that the instructions are clear, we have been soliciting individual comments from a number of-persons including waste generators, disposal facility operators, and Agreement State -regulators. Thuc, your views and those of Mr. Still would be appreciated.
