Subject: Combined Inspection Report Nos. 50 '52/90-81 and 50-353/90-81
This refers to the announced, routine safety inspection of emergency
preparedness activities authorized by License Nos. NPF-39 and NPF-85 conducted
by Mr. C. Amato of this office and other members of an NRC team on November
19-21, 1990, at your Limerick Generating Station, Pottstown, Pennsylvania and
your Nuclear Group Headquarters, Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania. Discussions of
our findings were held by Mr. Amato with you and your staff at the conclusion
of the inspection.
The areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
inspection report which is enclosed with this letter.
Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of ev. amination of procedures and records, interviews with
personnel by the inspectors and observation of your annual emergency
preparedness exercise.
Based on the results of this inspection, no violations were identified.
A
weakness from the previous exercise was repeated.
The performance of the
Limerick Generating Station staff demonstrated their ability to take adequate
and timely protective measures on behalf of public safety.
