Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant Reply-to NRC Emergency Planning Weakness Identified In Inspection Report Nos. 50-348/90-30 and 50-364/90-30 By letter of. December 12, 1990, the NRC identified one emergency exercise weakness;in-the area of procedural adherence. The weakness has been reviewed and the following action will be taken.
Exercise Weakness 50-348, 364/90-30-01: Failure of the Emergency Director to perform steps 4.1.1, 4.1.6, and 4.1.7 of the EPIP for General Emergency.
APCo Response The EIP.for General Emergency will'be merged with the EIPs for the other
' emergency classifications to provide guidelines for all emergency classifications in one procedure. :This procedure will be reformatted to provide the Emergency Director a logical sequence for implementation-during an emergency. Procedural signoffs for actions completed will be provided.
All-Emergency' Directors will be trained on this procedure. Estimated completion date is March 1, 1991.
The effectiveness of the corrective measures outlined above will be evaluated by table top exercises and practice drills during 1991.
