Dear Mr. Collins:

South Texas Project Units 1 & 2 Docket Nos. STN 50-498, STN 50-499 Final Report "EN-619 - Quedrex Work Package" This letter transmits the final report for Work Package EN-619, which addressed the issues raised in the Quadrex Report on the South Texas Project.

The Quadrex Report has been reviewed by Bechtel and all issues have been dispositioned by Bechtel through the work package program.

EN-619 is an interdisciplinary work package established for the purpose of addressing the Quadrex findings. It was handled in a manner similar to other packages in that a draft report was prepared, the draft report was subnitted to bl&P for review and comment, HL&P comments were addressed by Bechtel and the resolution incorporated in a Final Report accepted by the Project. The Final Report contains Bechtel's technical response to and rationale for disposition of each of the Quadrex issues.

The issuance of EN-619 completes our progran to disposition the issues raised by the Quadrex report. As previously described in our letter of April 22, 1982, describing the program to disposition Quadrex findings, any action items identified in EN-619 will be tracked to completion by normal Bechtel project methods. Any mmaining action items will therefore be carried out as normal ongoing engineering activities for the STP.

Should you have any questions, please contact M. E. Powell at (713)877-3281.

Very truly y rs,
