CLOSE00T OF All5 F0250al23 - POTENTIAL CDR FROM MISSISSIPPI POWER & LIGHT:
DEFECilVE FACTORY TEST OF CARBON FILTERS SUPPLIED BY FARR COMPANY, CRYSTAL LAKE, ILLIN0IS Vendor Program Branch (VPB) contact with the Farr Company has established that their current nuclear work consists of spare / replacement parts fabrication.
Farr Company was able to identify, retest, and replace, as necessary, all affected filters.
Measure implemented to preclude recurrence included super-seding of annual calibration requirements by daily calibration of the test equipment. Review of the applicable Mississippi Power & Light potential CDR and associated documentation indicates that a safety hazard did not exist in as much as the filters are tested upon field installation.
Accordingly, the VPB has determined that an inspection of this facility would not be warranted unless a safety significant deficiency had been identified.
This AITS item has now been closed and the subject material placed in the vendor reactive file.
