SUBJECT:
CLOSE0VT OF AITS H06000481 - SHIPMENTS OF POTENTIALLY FAULTY CARBON FILTERS TO VARIOUS SITES BY FARR COMPANY i
Farr Company notified NRC Region V by 10 CFR Part 21 notification, that their test stand Freon Injection Equipment was faulty; thus, the leak test results may not be reliable.
Vendor Program Branch (VPB) contact with Farr Company has established that their current nuclear work consists of spare / replacement parts fabrication.
Farr Company was able to identify, retest, and/or replace all affected filters.
Measures implemented to preclude recurrence included the superseding of annual calibration requirements by daily calibration of the test equipment.
Accordingly, the VPB has determined that an inspection of this facility would not be warranted unless a safety significant deficiency had been identified.
This AITS item has now been closed and the subject material placed in the vendor reactivr: file.
