Dear Ms. Weiss:

This is in response to your letter dated October 29, 1982 in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, a copy of all documents sent with the blocks of wood from the Clinch River Breeder Reactor Site to any NRC Commissioners or personnel by the applicants for the project.

Copies of the notes that were attached to the pieces of wood sent to Chairman Palladino, Commissioner Gilinsky, Commissioner Roberts, and Commissioner Asselstine are being placed in the Public Document Room located at 1717'H Street, N.W., Washington, DC, and are listed on the

, enclosed appendix.

With respect to Commissioner Ahearne, he also received a short note attached to a small piece of wood--which he took home.

In response to this request, he questioned whether the note was an " agency record" and stated he did not believe he would be able to locate it.

You may appeal this response to the Commission within 30 days from the receipt of this letter.

Any such appeal must be in writing addressed to l

the Secretary of the Commission, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Washington, DC 20555, and should clearly state on the envelope and in the letter that it is an " Appeal from an Initial F0IA Decision."
