SUBJECT:
PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO EXPORT LICENSE XB001110 Edlow International Company has requested that its Export License XB00ll10 be amended to allow Amersham International Ltd. to resale a total of 40,000 curies of bulk tritium gas to Brandhurst and Saunders-Roe, two companies located in the United Kingdom.
Export License XB001110 authorizes the export of bulk tritium gas to Amersham for the production of labelled compounds.
This amendment request is to allow Amersham to transfer some of its tritium gas to Saunders-Roe and Brandhurst, because these companies are unable to receive their normal supplies of bulk tritium gas from Oak Ridge National Lab due to new U.K. transport regulations which makes the ORNL's packaging currently not acceptable by the Department of Transportation of the U.K.
ORNL.
and Edlow International have advised that this is a temporary situation which will be resolved in a matter of days.
The Executive Branch has been advised of the aniendment request and has no objection to the amendment provided that the SAME license conditions set forth in Export License XB001110 apply to Saunders-Roe and Brandhurst including the condition that reexport of the bulk tritium gas is NOT authorized from the United Kingdom and that resales to both companies are limited to 100,000 curies.

has no objection.
