ALLEGATIONS PERTAINING 10 DEFICIENCIES IN MIDLAND-ROSS CORPORATION, SUPERSTRUT DIVISION STRUT MATERIAL
Reference:
Transfer of Lead Responsibility, Memo Crews to Eisen5ut, dated December 16, 1982 At the request of Region V, a Vendor Program Branch (VPB) inspection was performed at Midland-Ross Corporation, Superstrut Division, Oakland, California, on December 6-8, 1982, which included the allegations and a general review of their QA program in the scope.
In c,ummary, the procurer.ent practices used by Superstrut's customers were primarily telephone ordering of catalog items.
The quality requirements were either conflicting or nonexistent; thus, the VPB was unable to determine the application for the purchased material.
In tne one case where conflicting quality requirements were identified (Bechtel/Palo Verde), the VPB will follow up during the next scheduled inspection at,Bechtel (Los Angeles).
The results of this inspection are documented in VPB Inspection Report No. 99900364/82-01, attached for your information.
