SECTIONS 5.3 AND 6.0 - CLINCH RIVER BREEDER REACTOR PLANY e Enclosed are amended PSAR pages 5.3-8 and 6.1-1 which provide additional information on stainless steel and insulation properties of engineered safety features and on welding qualification in areas of limited accessibility. Thesc pages will be incorporated into the next amendment to the PSAR.

Welding Filler Materials ff ,1,1., ,

The weld filler materials to be used for the primary heat tranhort ,- 4 system components and primary piping fabrication shall conform to the require- -

ments of the RDT Standards for weld fill materials identified in Table 5.3-9.

The supplier may substitute other RDT Standard filler material types ,b Z ' f-

for those specified in Table 5.3-9 after review and approval by the purchaser prior to procurement. If the supplier elects to use other approved filler .~

i materials, the supplier's request for approval shall provide technical justi-

. fication for the proposed substitution. Alternate materials shall conform to. -

applicable RDT Standard requirements. .,'

Delta Ferrite Control . , , , _ ,

The delta ferrite requirements and determination for filler classifi-cations E308L, E308, ER308L, and ER308 shall conform to the requirements of

$cction III of the 1974 ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. The delta ferrite range of 5 to 9 percent shall be used since these limits are consis-tent with the Code and RDT Standards.

Welds on Associated Equipment ,

Weld filler materials for associated equipment welds shall conform with ASME Code,Section II, Part C, Welding flods, Electrodes and Filler l

Materials.
