Duks Pow:r Company Summary Report of the Preservice Examination of McGuire Nuclear Station Unit 2 Steam Generators Three percent of the Inconel tubes in each of the four steam generators at McGuire Unit 2 were examined per NRC Regulatory Guide 1.83, Rev.1 using eddy current techniques.

The tubing examinations were performed by technicians qualified to Level I, under direct supervision of personnel qualified to Level II of SNT-TC-1A, Supplement E, 1968 Edition as required in C.2.H of the Regulatory Guide. The equipment used conforms to the requirements of C.2.B, E, F, and G of the guide.

A dimension check was performed on the calibration standards prior to use, and the suitability of the standards including the separation of defects was demon-i strated during calibration for the tubing examination.

The data were analyzed by personnel qualified to Level 11 of SNT-TC-1A, Supplement E, 1968 Edition as required in C.2.H of the Regulatory Guide. shows a listing of all recorded indications. All indications are recorded on the raw data sheets.

Indications which are 1 20 percent of the tube wall thickness are transferred to the final report forms. The results of these examinations revealed no inoications > 20 percent of the tube wall thich-ness in any of the steam generators.
