On April 21, 1982, representatives from Dairyland Power's Emergency Planning staff attended a meeting in Chicago, at NRC's request, to schedule power reactor emergency preparedness exercises for the period April 1982 though April 1983 (reference 3). We had originally wished to conduct our sccond l
annual exercise in November 1982, but compromised with NRC and other agencies, and accepted a 3 month accellerated exercise date of August 4,1902.
In exchange we had requested that pending satigfactory completion of the August 4,1982 exercise, Dairyland Power Cooperative be permitted to re-exercise in accordance with 10 CFR 50 App. E in March,1984.
Our second joint agency exercise was conducted on August 4,1982, and as indicated by your letter (reference 5) the exercise was deemed acceptable.
In conclusion, we request that Dairyland Power Cooperative be permitted to conduct our third annual joint agency. emergency exercise in March or April, 1984.
