Dear Mr. Miller:
This is in reply to the two (2) violations that were identified during the inspection of SNM materials that was conducted on November 17-19, 1982, 1.
Failure to file DOE /NRC Form-742, Material Balance Report within thirty (30) days after the end of the period covered by the report.
(a) Corrective action taken and the results achieved:
The personnel involved in the preparation and submission of these reports have been notified of this noncompliance item. Since all of the reports that were due at the time of the inspectiori had been filed, there is no basis for making a judgement on the results that have been achieved.
(b) Corrective action to be takea to avoid further noncompliance:
This item will be added to a STATUS BOARD that is posted in the control room of the reactor facility. This will be done as a reminder of the times for filing these reports.
The next report should be filed within thirty (30) days of March 31, 1983.
(c) The date when full compliance will be achieved:
It is assumed that full compliance was achieved as of the exit interview on November 19, 1982.

Failure to include certain SNM on the annual physical inver. tory of these materials.
(a)
Corrective action taken and the results achieved:
These items were physically inventoried during the inspection. They have been added to a list that contains the other U-235 enriched materials.
(b) Corrective action to be taken to avoid further noncompliance:
Adding these to the list of other U-235 enriched materials will ensure that a physical inventory is completed on an annual basis. This item will also be added to the STATUS BOARD in the control room of the reactor facility.
(c) The date when full compliance will be achieved:
It is assumed that full compliance was achieved during the physical inventory of these materials on November 19, 1982.

These are C. Pohlod and II. Mandel on page 2 of the Inspection Summary. There is aise a typographical error on p:ge 1 in that SNM-237 should be Sta!-236.
