STN 50,482 ORDER EXTENDING CONSTRUCTION COMPLETION DATE Kansas Gas and Electric Company, Kansas Power & Light Company and Kansas Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. are holders of Construction Pemit !!o. CPPR-147 issued on Ny 17, 1977 by the U. S. Nuclear Degulatory Comission for constrec-tinn of the Wnif Creek Generating Statien, Unit No.1 located in Coffey County, Kansas.
By letter, dated "ovember 24, 1982, Kansas Gas and Electric Company filed an application far extension of the latest construction connietion date for the Wolf Creek Generating Station, Unit No.1 Construction Permit. It was requested that Construction Pemit CPPR-147 be extended from March 1,1984 to July 1,1986.
I The reasons given for the requested extension in tice were:
(1) the slow progres-sion of construction due in part to increasingly stringent ouality requirementsl and (2) numerous changes and additional requirements for,ilant design, including those required as a result of the Comission's regulatory review of the Three Mile Island accident.
This action involves no significant hazards consideration, good cause has been shown for the delays, and the requested extension is for a reasonable period, the bases for which are set forth in the staff's safety evaluation for this extension.
