Licensee: Tennessee Valley Authority, Chattanooga, Tennessee Docket Nos.- 50-259, 50-260, and 50-297 Browns Ferry Nuclear. Plant
Subject:
PROPOSED IMPOSITION OF CIVIL PENALTY - $40,000 This is to inform the Comission that a Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalty in the amount of Forty Thousand Dollars will be issued on or about January 14 1983 to Tennessee Valley. Authority. This action is based on a failure to control access into the Protected Area and an unauthorized entry which resulted from this failure.
It should be noted that the licensee has not been s'pecifically informed of the enforcement action. The Regional Administrator has been authorized by the Director of the Office of Inspection and Enforcement to sign this action.- The schedule of issuance and notification is:
Mailing of Notice January 13,1983 Telephone Notification of Licensee January 13, 1983-A news release has been prepared and will be issued about the time the-licensee receives the Notice.
The State of Alabama will be notified.

The licensee has thirty days from the date of the Notice in which to respond.
Following NRC evaluation of the response, the civil penalty may be remitted, mitigated, or i,mposed by Order.
