This is to confirm our discussion of August 27, 1982.
I appreciate your having taken prompt steps in responding to the RC's concerns regarding safeguards.
The revised Chapters 20 and 21 to the Physical Protection Plan have been received and reviewed by sty staff. As we discussed, we shall be issuing a license condition which incorporates these commitments as a condition of your authorization to resume production operations. Details of this candition will be discussed with your staff.
Regarding the submission of the remaining chapters of the Physical Protection Plan, GA will provide these to sty staff no later than September 27, 1982.
In the interim, I will be discussing with R. G. Page the possibilfty of allcwing a phased response to his August 2,1982 letter regarding your application for Renewal of License No. SM-696.
Please let me know immediately if you foresee any problems that could delay the l
completion and implementation of the revised ' physical protection plan so that we can promptly resolve them.
