TRIP REPORT -- METING 0F THE URANIUM SUBCOMMITTEE OF THE VIRGINIA C0AL AND ENERGY COMMISSION Place and Date June 14-15,1982; Washington and Lee University School of Law in Lexington, Virginia.
Purpose and Summary The meeting consisted of informal presentations being made before the members of the Uranium Subcomittee of the Virginia Coal and Energy Commission of the Virginia State Legislature. The subcomittee is charged with the responsibility of recomending legislation to the Virginia General Assembly dealing with the regulation of uranium mining in Virginia. The purpose of the seminar was to provide the subcommittee with an opportunity to hear expert witnesses from goverament and academia discuss various issues associated with uranium mining and milling, tailings disposal, and land reclamation. The individuals who made presentations and the subjects of their discussions are noted below.
