By letter dated November 1,1982, NRC requested additional information concerning the implementation of NUREG-0313, Rev.1 by Georgia Power Company for the Hatch units. The subject letter requires a response within thirty days of receipt of letter.
Please be advised that submittal of a response within the requested time frame creates a hardship. Personnel responsible for the requested response are similarly involved with inservice inspection activities currently in progress on Hatch Unit 1 and subsequent response to NRC I&E Bulletin 82-03 by December 1, 1982. Therefore, it is necessary that an extension be requested for providing additienal information at a later date regarding the implementation of NUREG-0313, Rev.1.
This hardship was discussed with NRR Hatch Project Manager, Mr.
M. Fairtile, during a telephone conversation with Mr. J. A. Edwards, Georgia Power Company, on Monday, November 8, 1982. It was requested that the response time be extended to January 7,1983. Mr. Fairtile indicated that submittal of the requested additional information by that date would be acceptable. By copy of this letter, your contractor, EG&G Idaho, Inc. is being notified of the requested extension and subsequent approval.
