BOARD NOTIFICATION - SEMISCALE TEST RESULTS (Board Notification No.82-107)
In accordance with present NRC procedures mgarding Board Notifications, the enclosed information is being provided for your information as constituting new information relevant and insterial to safety issues. This infomation is generic and may have applicability to all dockets with pressurized wtar reactors (PWRs).
The attached information which updates BN 82-93 describes recent tests in the Semiscale facility, a test facility approximately 1/1500th volume scaled to a typical Westinghouse 4 loop PWR.
In the Semiscale tests the " feed and bleed" mode of cooling was tested. The results of this test show that no new phenomena was exhibited and that " feed and bleed" can be adequately predicted by our computer codes.
