Dear Mr. DeYoung:

This letter constitutes a follow-on report concerning the Part 21 notification sent to you by the Hayward Tyler Pump Company (HTPC) on May 13, 1982. Pursuant to HTPC's request, a copy of which was attached to the May 13 notification, Texas Utility Services, Inc. has returned to HTPC's plant in Burlington, Vermont, the four Monel replacement shafts manufactured by HTPC for use at the Comanche Peak power station. These shafts arrived in Burlington from Texas Utilities on October 11 and are now in HTPC's physical possession.

HTPC is considering the best means of testing these shafts for any metallurg. al anamoly which may have resulted from the use of heat-straightening. When HTPC has determined how to proceed with its testing program, the Company will advise you further.

Very truly yours, HAYWARD TYLER PUMP COMPANY h_h8c:e Robert L. Parrin General Manager RLP/ gem cc: Mr. Roger Fortuna l
