Thank you for your letters of November 23', 1981, and January 11, 1982, in response to our letters dated October 29 and Deceeber 16, 1981.
r We have no further questions concerning your proposed exception to any quality requirement imposed by future customer's purchase orders that are in conflict with your quality program. You should recognize, however, that your customer will be held responsible for assuring that all manufacturing activities are conducted in accordance with Quality Assurance commitments for the product involved, and his failure to do so could preclude the use of this product in a licensed facility.
For those contracts that you accepted which specify 10 CFR Part 21 as an applicable regulation, we require that you meet the posting, implementation and notification requirements. Accordingly, we still require the corrective action measures originally requested by our letter of October 29, 1981. Should these specific contracts be now completed, we will consider as an alternate response, correc-tive action measures which include notification of affected customers that the 10 CFR Part 21 regulation was not complied with in the manufacture of governors.
Please provide the requested information within 25 days so that we may cortiplete our review.
