SUBJECT:
MOTOR-0PERATED VALVE ISSUES WITH SPECIAL EMPHASIS ON THE PROCESS FOR CLOSING OUT GENERIC LETTER 89-10 I am extending an invitation to Region I licensees to participate with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) and Region I representatives in a discussion of Generic Letter (GL) 89-10 motor-operated valve programs.
Special emphasis will be placed on the NRC's expectations for completion of GL 89-10 programs, and on our intended closure process for that Generic letter.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 1994, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Park Ridge Hotel, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania (610-337-1800). The meeting is open for public observation and will be attended by NRC Region I and NRR staff. We request that you consider sending 2 to 3 members of your staff and management associated with the GL 89-10 program.
To make the meeting as productive as possible, please provide a preliminary list of questions / issues, and indicate who will represent you at the meeting by October 18, 1994. Those questions and issues will form the bases for additional discussions. We also intend to present overviews by both NRC and utility managers, presenting their perspective on GL 89-10 issues. An agenda for the meeting is attached for your information.
