CHAIRMAN September 14, 1994 The Honorable Constance Morella United States House of Representatives Washington, D.C.

20515

Dear Congresswoman Morella:

I cordially invite you to attend the dedication of the Commission's new office building at 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland, on November 9, 1994.

The completion of Two White Flint North is especially significant in that it fulfills the Commission's goal to consolidate the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's headquarters employees.

As you are aware, for many years the NRC's headquarters staff was housed in multiple locations throughout Montgomery County and the District of Columbia.

In 1988, the NRC occupied the One White Flint North building.

Now, our remaining offices and functions have moved into the Two White Flint North building.

We believe that the benefits the agency will derive from complete headquarters consolidation will enhance our ability to protect the public health and safety.

I sincerely hope you can participate in the dedication ceremony on November 9.

We plan to have a small reception at 10:30 a.m.,

followed by the public ceremony at 11:00 a.m.

I would also welcome a member of your staff if you cannot attend.

Please call me or Ms. Linda Portner, Associate Director of i

Congressional Affairs, on 301-504-1776 should you or your staff j

have any questions regarding the event.
