SUBJECT: INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-213/93-14
This letter refers to the announced inspection conducted by Mr. J. Carrasco of this office on
July 19-23,1993, at the Haddam Neck Power Plant, Haddam, Connecticut. The inspector
discussed the results of the inspection with Mr. Kupinski and other members of your staff at
the conclusion of the inspection.
This inspection focused on activities important to the public health and safety and was
directed towards engineering activities with emphasis on the adequacy of the design,
installation, and modification of safety-related dynamic pipe restraints (DPRs) and stanc
(rigid) pipe supports, including the snubber surveillance program.
Details on the areas examined during the inspection' are described in the NRC Region I
inspection report, which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the inspection
consisted of selected examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with
personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
