In a letter dated May 13, 1983, Mr. Richard C. DeYoung, Director, Office of Inspection and Enforcement requested reactor power facilities to take appropriate actions concerning I&E Bulletin 83-05, "ASME Nuclear Code Pumps and Spare Parts Manufactured by the Hayward Tyler Pump Company (HTPC)," if they use or plan to use ASME nuclear code pumps or related spare parts provided by HTPC. We hereby submit the following response to that request.
A review of the ASME nuclear class 1, 2, and 3 pumps was conducted for Plant Hatch, Units 1 and 2, and it was determined that none of the specified pumps or spare parts manufactured or provided by HTPC are installed or are planned to be installed at Plant Hatch.
Therefore, it was not necessary to conduct the special inservice tests, nor was it necessary to take the additional actions requested in your letter.
