The assumption of multiple failures of these brackets and their corresponding transmitters during a seismic event could result in an unanalyzed plant condition. As explained in reference 2, the resolution of this concern is to be accomplished by replacing the non-seismically qualified mounting brackets with seismically qualified mounting brackets and demonstrating that the structural integrity of the existing transmitters mounted on the replacement brackets is not compromised during a seismic event.
CPCo has received a draft field change authorization (FCA) from B&W describing the seismic qualification of the existing transmitters with the replacement b ackets. To resolve Bechtel comments on seismic qualification curves, B&W has further extended the submittal date for the final FCA to l
September 15, 1983. Our present schedule requires the qualified replacement brackets to be shipped to the site and installed with transmitters prior to initial fuel load.
Replacement bracket qualification will be documented by closcout of Consumers Pcwer Company NCR M01-9-2-065.
