- 4) Serial 22188, dated May 6, 1983 This letter, as were the referenced letters, is an interim 50,55(e) report on accident temperature effects on containment level measurement.
Investigation has limited the need for corrective action to steam generator level transmitters.
It has been determined that instrument string error for this equipment under accident conditions exceeds that allowed to establish the steam generator ECCS control setpoints.
The design has been revised to include one transmitter per steam generator and insulate the transmitter reference leg.
In addition, Bechtel and B&W are refining existing calculations to determine optimum installation details.
Another letter, either interim or final, will be provided on or before October 31, 1983.
