SUlt1ARY OF MEETING HELD ON AUGUST 1,1983 WITH THE CALLAWAY AND WOLF CREEK APPLICANTS TO DISCUSS THE PLASMA DISPLAY PORTION OF THE REACTOR CORE SUBC00 LING MONITOR A meeting was held on August 1,1983 at the Westinghouse offices in Bethesda, ild. with representatives of the Union Electric Company, Kansas Gas and Electric Company, SNUPPS Organization, Westinghouse Electric Corporation, and Bechtel Power Corporation. The meeting was held to discuss the microprocessor-based plasma display portion of the Reactor Core Subcooling Monitor. A list of attendees is attached as Enclosure 1.
Westinghouse described the Reactor Core Subcooling Monitor and in particular, the microprocessor-based plasma display portion of the monitor. The functional diagram is provided in the FSAR (Figure 18.2-12) and was discussed. Those components which are safety-related were identified. The design bases / criteria were discussed and isolation devices were identified and discussed. The staffs attention was called to Chapter 18 cf the FSAR for system description information. Westinghouse stated the analog display is on the central board in the control room and the plasma display is in a cabinet in the control room. The staff indicated it would continue its audit of this area.
