Dear Dr. Richey:
I am writing to commend to you the appearance on August 1_2, 1983 of Mr. Sean Hawley as a witness on behalf of the NRC Staff during the hearing in Los Angeles concerning the UCLA research reactor.
Mr. Hawley's composure, patience, and exceptionally competent testimony during the course of an arduous cross-examination for more than ten hours was quite impressive. His careful preparation for his appearance was obvious throughout his testimony. We are most grateful for his thorough and expert assistance in testifying about the contents of the "Battelle Study" in this protacted proceeding. We also appreciate the assistance of Dr. Denovan.
