Identify the applicable codes and acceptance standards that will be used in the verification of weld integrity.

Considering that the closure design results in a 0.093" naxinun gap which is 7" deep between the closure and the cask body show that a neaningful soap bubble leak test can be perforned to verify the closure seal.

The description of the shield integrity test is incomplete in that the anount of the total shield surface to be surveyed has not been stipulated, e.g.,100% of the surface or a grid pattern of some specified dimension.

Clarify the discrepancy in the shielding acceptance criteria which

exists between Section 8.1.5 and Note 8 on the packaging drawing.

Maintenance Progran The maintenance progran should specifically address the inspection and testing procedures, replacement criteria, and replacement schedules for all safety related items and functional features. The itens addressed should include gaskets on all containnent penetrations, fasteners, drain line and access plugs, quarterly leak testing, maintenance of painted surfaces, and identification markings and match narks used for closure orientation.
