WITFORAWAL OF REQUESTED TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION CHANGE FEEDWATER TEMPERATURE REDUCTION 4
Gentlemen:
In accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 50.90, on November 11, 1982 Georgia Power Company (GPC) proposed Technical Specification changes which would permit operation of the unit in the event of a partial loss of feedwater heating.
The reduced feedwater temperature calculations performed were cycle-specific and only applied to Hatch-2 Cycle-3 operation.
l GPC respectfully withdraws its request of November 11, 1982 regarding operation of Hatch-2 with reduced feedwater temperature for the following reasons:
This Technical Specification has not yet been approved by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
GPC did not operate Hatch-2 Cycle-3 with reduced feedwater temperature.
GPC has begun Hatch-2 Cycle-4 operation and the previous cycle-specific analyses for reduced feedwater temperature do not apply.
