EXHIBIT A Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant Revision No. I to License Amendment Request - Dated June 24, 1983 Proposed Changes to the Technical Specifications Appendix A of Operating License DPR-42 and 60 Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.59 and 50.90, the holders of Operation License DPR-42 and 60 hereby propose the following changes to Appendix A, Technical Specification:
K(Z) Curve Proposed Change Modify the K(Z) curve per attached Figure TS.3.10-5.
This change lowers the third line segment [(10.8,.942) to (12.0,.430) on the attached Figure TS.3.10-5] of the K(Z) curve.
Reason for Change The third line segment is mainly controlled by the small break LOCA analysis. Since only the large break LOCA was recalculated, the small break F limit should not change. Since this is a normalized curve, the n
third line segment must be shif ted down such that:
2.21x[present K(Z)] = 2.32x[ proposed K(Z)].
The proposed K(Z) curve is attached.
Significant Hazards Evaltc+1on The evaluation provided in the June 24, 1983 submittal is still applicable.
