Dear Mr. Sugarman:
Thahk you for your letter of July 6,1983, informing me that notices for the June 23 and June 24, 1983 technical meetings between PECO and the NRC reached you too late to permit your attendance. We certainly regret that this occurred. Although 43 Federal Register 28058 does not specify a minimum time requirement, our normal procedure is to issue meeting notices so that they reach the service list at least one week in advance of the meeting.
In situations where this is not possible because of time constraints, as in the above cases, we normally attempt to contact by telep one those intervenors who have demonstrated an interest in the meeting subject matter as evidenced by their contentions and past attendance at related meetings.
Regarding the applicable dockets for the June 23 meeting, Docket No. 50-353 was inadvertently omitted from the meeting notice due to a typographical error. This meeting was relevant to both Limerick dockets.
It is our practice to issue a meeting summary within a reasonable time after each noticed meeting. Summaries for the June 23 and June 24, 1983 meetings will be provided to you when they become available.
l Sincerely, f11 A. Schwencer, Chief Licensing Branch No. 2 Division of Licensing cc: See next page l
