ACRS COMMENTS ON GESSAR II DESIGN Thank you for your review and comments related to General Electric's application for an FDA for their BWR/6 Nuclear Island Design, GESSAR II. We plan to include your coments in the first supplement to the GESSAR II SER, which is scheduled to be issued in July. This supplement will address the resolution to all of the outstanding issues and some of the confirmatory issues identified in the SER, as well as the areas of concern expressed in your letter.

We plan to include your coments in the first supplement to the GESSAR II SER, which is scheduled to be issued by July 1,1983. This supplement will address the resolution to all of the outstanding issues and some of the confirmatory issues identified in the SER, as well as the areas of concern expressed in your letter. With regard to the interim provisions of the Commission's Proposed Policy Statement on Severe Accidents, the ACRS would be afforded the opportunity to review and comment prior to/the staff issuing an interim FDA for the GESSAR II design.
