SUMMARY
OF TELECON OF JUNE 28, 1983 ACRS (16)
On June 28, 1983, a discussion was held between Consumers Power Company, Bechtel, and NRC. Participants are included as Enclosure 1.
The discussion involved a request for information by the NRC relating to a Motion before the hearing board to reopen contentions relating to the effect of dewatering on the settlement of the Unit I reactor containment building. The NRC is required to respond to the Motion by July 22, 1983.
At this time, CPCo has not femally cvaluated the settlement trends in relation to the dewatering history near the reactor buildings. The total maximum predicted settlement for the reactor buildings is 2.5 inches. The greatest measured settle-ment up to September 1982 was approximately 1.25 inches. Consumers indicated that there have been no significant dewatering events since September 1982.
Information requested by the NRC includes:
(
1.
Plots of time (months or weeks) vs. ground water elevations (for observation wells and peizometers near containment buildings).
2.
Plots of time (same time frame as above) vs. settleacnt readings.
Tbc period of time should include the entire history from 1977 to the present.
CPCo has agreed to provide the infomation in approximately one week.
