I received a request through Myron Kamm, Office of Executive legal Director, to update the Board on the status of the Federal Dnergency Fanagenent Agency's (FDR) interim findings cn the off-siteJadiological Emergency Response Plans (Ew) for the Wolf Creek Generating Station.
Pursuant to the Mmorandum of Understanding between the Nuclear Pegulatory Carission (NRC) and Fan (45 Fed. Reg. 82713, December 16, 1980) the NPC I
may request " find.ings and deteminaticns on the current status of energency ',
preparedness around particular sites" as needed.
45 Fed. Reg. at 82714. At the time of the March 10, 1983 prehearing conference, the NRC had requested FE4A provide interim findings on the current status of the IERP for Wolf Creek by April 1, 1983. The NBC subsequently changed that date to July and later to Septenber 15, 1983.
When [was made aware of the Septenber date, I advised the appropriate peau managers that that date wculd not serve the purpose of the Board or the parties to these hearings. Cbnsequently, although the NBC request date is still Septernber

15, 1983, the Region VII office of FDR will prepare and send the interim findmgs to FD 2 Headquarters by July 30, 1983. Headqua wrs m m reviea those findings and provide tlxra to the NRC as expeditiously as possible.
