On April 10, 1978, a safety concern was reported to Licensing which dealt with a small break on the discharge side of the RC pumps for 177FA lowered loop plants. The problem is that ECCS Analysis indicates violation of the acceptance criteria of 10 CFR 50.46 under certain conditions.
This concern was evaluated as a potential defect reportable to the NRC under 10 CFR 21, and you were notified of this problem 1973. On April 12, 1978, the NRC was notified by on April 11,ith a confirmatory letter and report to NRC submitted telephone, w on April 14, 1975, thus completing B3W reporting obligation under the Regulation; all affected customers have also been notified.
Documentation for our files is required, in accordance with procedure NPC-1707-01, that the Vice-President NPGD, was notified of this concern.
