20555 Qualification of the Drywell-to-Wetwell Vacuum Breaker Valves Shoreham Nuclear Power Station - Unit 1 Docket No. 50-322
Dear Mr. Denton:
As part of the Anderson-Greenwood Vacuum Breaker Test Program Owners Group, LILCO participated in a presentation to the NRC on June 7, 1983, in which both generic and plant-specific aspects of the Test Program were presented.
This material was transmitted by the Program Manager (Bechtel Power Corporation) to the NRC in a letter dated June 17, 1983 and confirms that the installed SNPS drywell floor pressure relief valves (vacuum breakers) are fully qualified in accordance with the applicable code requirements.
Based on the above presentation and submittal, LILCO believes that the NRC concern regarding bypass leakage (due to cyclic impact loading during hydrodynamic events), with respect to the SNPS vacuum breakers, should be considered resolved and no further action is required.
If any additional information is required, please contact the undersigned.
Very truly yours, J.
