Dear Mr. Smith:
Public Service of Indiana has applied for operating licenses for the Marble Hill Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2, which are under construction in Saluda Township, Jefferson County, Indiana. More precisely the site is located at latitude _38 36' 03", longitude 85 26' 44", which occurs on the U. S.
Geological Survey 7.5' map titled Bethlehem, Indiana. The location of the site and the associated transmission lines are shown in the enclosed maps.
He are preparing an Environnental Impact Statement as part of our operating license review. To assure a thorough review, we request that your office provide any information you have related to the environmental impact of operation of the station.
We will be making a site visit on July 11,12, and 13,1983.
If you or members of your staff would like to participate, please inform us of your interest by June 30, 1983. You nay call the project manager, Paul O'Connor, on (301)492-9764 or FTS 492-9764.
During our visit we will hold a public reeting at 7:30 pm on July 12 in the Jefferson County Public Library in Madison, Indiana to receive public coments on environmental issues related to operation of the facility.
