June 10,1983 Appalachia--Science in the Public Interest requests an extension of time to file its previously submitted, Amicus Curiae Brief from Appalachia--Science in the Public Interest Supporting the Miami Valley Power Project's Renewed Attempt to Obtain Atomic Safety ani Licensing Board Hearings on Eight Quality Assurance Centen-tiens. he reasons for this request fellow:

1) ne brief was aistakenly filed early because a) the organization's representative en nuclear issues was not familiar with the specific legal require-monts for dates of filing support briefar and b) was called out of town before the pe.tition was filed so was out of touch with the Government Accountability Project wheii it postponed the f4Wg of the petition.
2) he brief is a statement of support rather than an original argument.

Berefore, filing the brief late would not prejudice the interests of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff or Cincinnati Gas ani Electric. D ere is nothing new in the brief that they might wish to answer.

Appalachia--Science in the Public Interest requests that its previous submission be refiled on granting of the motion.
