STAFF REQUIREMENTS - OR/ L PRESENTATIONS ON INDIAN POINT EMERGENCY FLANNING AND PREPAREDNESS, 9:30 A.M., THURSDAY, MAY 26, 1983, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, D.C. 0FFICE (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE)
The Commission heard oral presentations on Indian -Point emergency planning and preparedness (see attached list of participants).
The Chairman noted that:
1.
the licensees' (Consolidated Edison and the Pow'er Authority of the State of New York) would file a written submission addressing Commissioner Gilinsky's question of whether, in view of the. improvements they noted at the meeting, they are ready for a partial emergency exercise, to check whether the deficiencies have in fact been rectified; and 2.
The Commission would make available to FEMA a copy of the day's transcript and the written submissions received by the Commission as a result of its May 5 and May 13 Orders, and would ask FEMA to provide the Commission before June 9 an update of its previous written assessment of the adequacy of the emergency planning and preparedness at Indian Point.
