WPDES Permit No. WI-0000957-2 POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT This will notify the Department that the daily maximum pH effluent limitation was exceeded at the Point Beach Nuclear Plant. The pH of the re-tention pond discharge (sample point 501) was 10.3 (s.u.) on May 25, 1983.
The Company has commenced an investigation into this incident which will include a review of the sampling and analysis techniques to de-termine the validity of the results, an inspection of any treatment equip-ment, and a review of operators' logs to determine any unusual activities which might have caused the incident. When the investigation is completed, a letter will be sent to the Department outlining the results of the inves-tigation and corrective action, if any, which has been or will be taken.
