Mr. S. A. Varga Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant - Unit 1 Safety-Related Snubber Technical Specification Table Changes Gentlemen:
Based on a comprehensive review of the safety-related snubbers installed at Farley Unit 1 and a plant walkdown during the fourth refueling outage, several changes to Technical Specification Tables
' 3.7-4a, " Safety Related Hydraulic Snubbers," and 3.7-4b, " Safety Related Mechanical Snubbers," are needed.
The changes are primarily a result of an ef fort by Alabama Power Company to ensure that all snubbers assumed to be operable for safety-related seismic stress calculations are included irt the Technical Specification Tables.
Previously, only snubbers attached to safety-related piping were included in the ~ Technical Specifications; however, some snubbers attached > to nori-safety-related piping are assumed operable for saf ety-related seismic stress analysis and are therefore being added to the Technical Specification snubber tables.
Additional changes to the Technical Specification Tables are a result of recent plant design changes and typooraphical errors in the current version of Technical Speci fi cati ons.
The specific proposed changes are included as.
The snubbers that are being added to the Technical Specification Tables were included in the inspection program performed during the fourth refueling outage.
Since the Technical Specification Surveil-lance Requirements have already been completed on the snubbers that were not-previously included in the Technical Specifications, the proposed changes to the Technical Specification Tables are admini-g3}
