Purpose:
to To discuss CE submit *.a1 and revision of a Topical Report (CENPD-270) for a dry cask spent fuel storage independent l
spent fuel storage installation (ISFSI).
Discussion:
The meeting generally followed the CE proposed agenda (see enclosure 2).
CE, while reaffirming detemination to revise and pursue approval of the CE i
Topical Report, is concerned about the ktility market for dry storage casks and wishes to stretch out development of the CE Topical Report. Othar cask vendors are also mentioned, in addition to CE, by Virginia Electric and Power Company (VEPCO) in its Surry site application for ISFSI storage. These are Rid 1halgh, Eggers and Associates (REA), actually in this case, Nuclear Structures, Inc. (NSI) which is developing a design by REA; and Gesellschaft fur Nuklear Service, mbH (GNS).
HSI and GNS are expected to submit Topical Reports in late May or June. CE will be discussing any decision to delay its report development with VEPCO.
(VEPCO was an observer at this meeting.) CE will be l
notifying NRC of CE's plans when a decision-is reached, but no date for notification has been given.
