Gentlemen:

Pursuant to the telephone conversation today between our R. L. Ideker and An-Liang Soong of your staff, Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. (NFS) advises you that: final testing, balancing adjustment and acceptance of the new ventilation systems is now scheduled for completion by June 30, 1983. This schedule change is due to:

(1) The entire system must be rebalanced each time an additional process component is added to the system.

Sections of Bldg.

302 are coming on line in late April and the laboratory and incinerator systems are to be added in May.

(2) Upset conditions in the operation of the scrubbing systems have caused excess water to reach the HEPA filters.

(3) A section of ducting associated the calciner afterburner in the Bldg. 200 Complex failed and replacement was required.

(4) Problems were encountered with the high-speed fan bases re-sulting in excessive vibration on certain units.

(5) Difficulties have been encountered in balancing the pressure differentials between the existing UFs venturi scrubber and the new main ventilation system causing water carry-over from I

that system.
