LaSalle County Station Units 1 and 2 Submittal Per Requirements of 10 CFR 50.49(g) and (1)
NRC Docket Nos. 50-373 and 50-374
Dear Sir:
10 CFR 50.49(g) requires, in part:
"Each holder of an operating license issued prior to February 22, 1983 shall, by May 20, 1983, identify the electric equipment important to safety within the scope of this section already qualified and submit a schedule for either the qualification to the provisions of this section or for the replacement of the remaining electric equipment important to safety within the scope of this section."
LaSalle County Station Unit 1 was issued license NPF-ll on April 17, 1982.
The requested information is provided in Attachment A,
" Environmental Qualification Status Report, lE-Equipment (Harsh)."
10 CFR 50.49(1) requires, in part:
" Application for operating licenses that are to be be granted on or after February 22, 1983, but prior to November 30, 1985, shall perform an analysis to assure that the plant can be safely operated pending completion at equipment qualification required by this section.
This analysis must be submitted to the Director of the Of fice of Nuclear Reactor Regulation prior to the granting of an operating license..."
LaSalle County Station Unit 2 is currently expected to begin fuel loading in August, 1983.
A discussion of the Unit 2 environ-mental qualification program is provided in Attachment B.
