- 3) Serial 20689, dated February 1, 1983 This letter, as were the referenced letters, is an interim 50.55(e) report on accident temperature effects on containment level measurement, Investigation has limited the need for corrective action to steam generator t
level transmitters. It has been determined that instrument string error for this equipment under accident conditions exceeds that allowed to establish the steam generator ECCS control setpoints.
It is now known that one transmitter must be added to each instrument channel.
In addition, Bechtel and B&W are refining existing calculations to determine optimum installation details.
Final information is expected by July 15, 1983.
Another letter, either interim or final, will be provided on or before August 31, 1983.
