SUBJECT:
SUMMARY
OF MEETING WITH DUQUESNE LIGHT COMPANY TO DISCUSS THE PHYSICAL SECURITY PLAN FOR UNIT 2 A meeting was held with Duquesne Light Company (DLC) on March 17, 1983 at NRC Headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland. A list of attendees is included as Enclosure 1.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the applicant's Physical Security Plan.
Unit 1 is an operating unit, and as such has a plan, approved by the staff, in effect. This Physical Security Plan consists of three major parts:
't'he base plan, the Training and Qualification Plan, and the Contingency Plan.
It is the applicant's intent to modify their existing plan

for Unit 1 by adding to that plan infomation that will describe the Unit 2 Security program. Thus, they will have one Physical Security Plan for the Beaver Valley Site, including both Unit 1 and Unit 2, rather than a separate plan for each unit.
The applicant does not anticipate that it will be necessary to change i'
either the Contingency Plan or the Training and Qualification Plan portions of the Physical Security Plan because of the addition of Unit-2..
However, major changes will be made to the base plan. DLC provided-the-l staff with a draft letter outlining those changes, chapter by chapter, at the meeting. A fomal letter is expected to be submitted in the near future.
The staff informed the applicant that the Physical Security Plan for the Beaver Valley Site should be submitted no later than July 31, 1983. The applicant saw no problem, as of yet, meeting this date.
