NUREG-0737, Item II.K.3.22, Automatic Switchover of Reactor Corg Isolation Cooling System Suction.
Dear Mr. Stolz:
This letter responds to your letter dated August 4, 1982 i
(recalved November 22, 1982) requesting verification that the i
acceptance criteria delineated in the enclosure to the August 4, 1982 letter has been satisfied for the modification providing automatic switchover of the Reactor Core Isolation Cooling (RCIC)
System suction.
NUREG 0737, Item II.K.3.22, requires automatic switchover to the suppression pool when the condensate storage tank level is icw.
Considering the late arrival of your letter, the NRC Project Manager informed us that a response within 30 days of receipt of the lettar would be appropriate.
This modification has been completed on both Peach Bottom units, and according to our engineering evaluation meets the design criteria delineated in items 1 through 9 of the enclosure to the August 4, 1982 letter.
A plant emergency procedure, as requested in item 10 of the enclosure, provides the necessary guidance to the plant operators for maintaining the torus water level within the proper range.
Therefore, the new system is in compliance with the acceptance criteria identified in the enclosure to your letter.
