APPLICANTS' RESPONSE TO CFSP'S FIRST SET OF PRODUCTION REQUESTS On September 10, 1982, the Coalition for Safe Power (CFSP) served " Coalition for Safe Power's Interrogatories to the Applicant-Set 1." Although CFSP's discovery requests are nominally labelled interrogatories, many request that Applicants " provide" certain categories of documents, reports, studies, data, assessments and calculations. These requests include " interrogatories" numbered 5, 6, 10, 30, 34, 35, 40, 45, 46, 56, 57, 58, 52, 63, 64, 65, 67, 68, 72, 73, 75, 76, 77, 80, 83, 84, 86, 92, 93 and 95. Applicants have interpreted these " interrogatories" as requests for production of documents pursuant to 10 CFR Section 2.741 and hereby submit the attached responses to these requests. The Applicants have previously filed responses and objections to the remaining discovery requests.1

97SNP01 The attached responses identify documents which fall within the scope of the production requests and which are in the possession, custody or control of the Applicants. Upon reasonable notice, those documents will be made available to CFSP until November 30, 1982, for inspection during normal business hours at the law offices of Perkins, Cole, Stone, Olsen & Williams, 1900 Washington Building, f Seattle, Washington 98101. Upon request by CFSP, the Applicants ;
will make copies of any of the identified documents, or any pages !
thereof, for CFSP at a cost of $.10 per page.

97SNP01 Discovery Request 34 Q. Provide all supporting evidence that Applicant relies upon for this conclusion (i.e.,
conclusions in the responses to Interrogatories 32 and 33 regarding potential effects of 4
construction and operation of S/HNP on the sand roller].
A. The conclusions in the responses to Interrogtories 32 and 33 were largely based upon the Applicants' analysis of potential effects upon fish in general. This analysis is presented in ASC/ER Sections 4.1.1.1, 4.1.2.2, 5.1.3.1, 5.1.3.2.4, 5.2.3, 5.3.1.2 and Appendix L and in the testiinony of Dr. Thomas L. Page presented i
in the hearings held on May 7, 1982, before the Washington State Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council (Docket No. 81-1) with respect to applications for a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System premit and a Section 401 certification for S/ENP. The documents listed in response to Discovery Request 30 provide sources of information regarding the sand roller, but the Applicants do not necessarily 4
i
97SNP01 rely upon all of these documents to support their conclusions.
